Tip #6 Facebook ‘Likes’ Obtained through Private Messaging
Have you ever tried posting on your Facebook business page and never saw any Likes, Comments or Shares at all? We, as business owners, love to have people flocking to our social media fan page and getting the ‘Likes’ it deserves and thus getting a chunk of the 1.44 Billion monthly Facebook users’ attention, but that is not always the case. Let’s face it. People does not want to be plagued by ads so it’s kind of hard to get ‘Likes.’
So how do you win your viewers and get engagement? Post a private message individually to your friends. You never know it but you already have your base fans in them. Make sure to be polite in asking and offer to return the favor for them if they so request it. Say, if they asked you to like their page or their video, do so. Remember, you are building your fans’ trust not just for your company but for you as its owner/ authorized representative.
I have previously posted ways to get ‘Likes’ so I’m going to add some more tips that you can try:
*Images or Videos. Remember when I told you that images travel 60,000 faster than plain text? People digest images easily so make sure that your image is large, instead of using a thumbnail-sized photo. As for both images and videos, both need to be clear as people tend to scroll down when presented with blurry captures. With image or video posting, expect 53% chances of getting likes!
*Timing. “Timing is everything.” According to survey, the peak Facebook usage time is 3PM EST with 11AM and 8PM activity levels also noted. These are normally the times wherein people check Facebook for updates so make the most out of it by posting on these specified times.
*Ask questions. This is one of the best way also of getting engagement (comments, most likely) from viewers. Questions can range from a simple Yes or No, True or False, or specific questions about a topic. The reason why Facebook users love “question” posts is simple- they can voice out their opinions through the comments they make.
*Use your fans’ posts. People love to see real people’s content shared by your business. Post a picture of your customer wearing your product sunglasses, or a diner getting a big bite off of their fave burger in your restaurant, and so much more. The possibilities are endless!
*Crowdsource for Comments or Answers. Instead of answering the question by yourself, you can ask for your viewers’ opinions instead. Get your fanbase to help others who are in need of a tip, guide or advice.
*Make it Short. Based on social media experts, posts that are 80-characters or less tend to get better engagement compared to longer posts. This supports the theory that people would rather view than read.
*Frequency. Avoid overwhelming your audience or fanbase with more than 3 posts a day. According to the Buddy Media research, 1-2 posts a day will get you 40% of engagement compared to posts done more than 3 times. It’s the quality that counts, not the quantity.
*Call-to-Action. Give your fanbase the specifics of what they need to respond to. Phrases like “Click this…” “Hit Like” “Watch this if you…” are some of the powerful call to action phrases that your viewers can understand and they will follow base on what you want them to do.
